About the Plymouth Fury
The 1963 Plymouth Fury represented a significant stylistic departure from the 'plucked chicken' look of the 1962 models, adopting a more conventional and handsome square-shouldered design. Built on the B-body platform, it was technically a mid-sized car by the standards of the day, though it offered full-sized presence and comfort. The 318 cubic-inch 'Poly' V8 served as the dependable heart of the range, providing smooth torque and respectable performance for a family cruiser. While the Max Wedge versions dominated the drag strips, the standard Fury V8 remains a highly usable and stylish entry point into 1960s Mopar ownership.
