About the Nissan Sentra B14
The B14-generation Nissan Sentra arrived for the 1995 model year, marking a shift in philosophy for the nameplate. While the previous B13 generation was celebrated for the sporty SE-R, the B14 focused on refinement, interior space, and safety, adopting a 'baby Altima' aesthetic. The 1.6-litre GA16DE engine remained the mainstay, updated with Nissan's Variable Cam Timing (NVCS) to improve efficiency and low-end response. Though it lost the independent rear suspension of its predecessor in favour of a simpler multi-link beam axle, it gained a reputation for exceptional reliability and low running costs.
