About the Nissan Sentra B17
The B17-generation Nissan Sentra debuted for the 2013 model year, shifting its focus toward a more mature, 'class-above' design language inspired by the larger Altima. It featured a new MRA8DE 1.8-litre engine designed for efficiency, though it lacked the performance edge of previous SE-R models. While it offered segment-leading rear legroom and a large trunk, the generation became notorious for reliability issues concerning its Xtronic CVT. Consequently, the rare 6-speed manual versions are often preferred by second-hand buyers for their superior long-term durability.
