About the Morris Oxford Series III

The Morris Oxford Series III represents the definitive mid-century British family car, evolving the Series II with a fluted bonnet and modest rear fins. While its performance was pedestrian, it offered a modern unibody construction and a reliable BMC B-Series engine that made it a staple of UK roads. Its greatest legacy is its afterlife; in 1957, the tooling was sold to Hindustan Motors in India, where it was reborn as the Ambassador. This 'Amby' remained in production with minimal styling changes until 2014, becoming one of the longest-running automotive designs in history.
