About the Morris Oxford Series II
Introduced in 1954, the Morris Oxford Series II marked a significant shift for the brand, adopting the Austin-designed B-Series overhead-valve engine following the formation of BMC. While its styling retained a family resemblance to the smaller Minor, it offered a spacious 'full six-seater' interior thanks to a column gear change and front bench seat. It is historically significant as the basis for the Hindustan Landmaster, the direct predecessor to the legendary Ambassador that dominated Indian roads for decades. On the road, it is a quintessential 1950s British classic, prioritising comfort and visibility over outright performance.
