About the Autobianchi A111

The Autobianchi A111 was a technically advanced family saloon that served as a testbed for Fiat's transition to front-wheel drive. Based on Dante Giacosa's 'Project 123', it utilised the innovative transverse-engine layout of the earlier Primula but wrapped it in a more conservative three-box body. Despite its sober exterior, it featured high-end appointments like a real wood dashboard and four-wheel disc brakes, positioning it as a premium alternative to the Fiat 124. It remains a rare collector's item today, valued for its engineering significance and refined road manners.
