About the Mazda RX-7 Spirit R FD
The Spirit R was the final run-out edition of the FD-generation RX-7, limited to just 1,504 units for the Japanese domestic market. The Type A is the most desirable variant, featuring a strict two-seater configuration, lightweight Kevlar-backed Recaro bucket seats, and a five-speed manual gearbox. It represents the pinnacle of Mazda's sequential twin-turbocharged 13B-REW rotary engine, officially rated at 280 PS to meet the Japanese 'Gentlemen's Agreement'. With 17-inch forged BBS wheels, Bilstein dampers, and cross-drilled brakes, it is widely considered the most refined and collectible RX-7 ever produced.
