About the Mazda Cosmo Sport

The Cosmo Sport was Mazda's halo car, designed to showcase the viability of the Wankel rotary engine. The L10B, or Series II, introduced in 1968, featured a longer wheelbase for improved stability and a more powerful 128 hp version of the 10A engine. Hand-built at a rate of roughly one per day, its futuristic styling was inspired by the Space Race, featuring a low-slung silhouette and distinctive split tail lights. It remains a blue-chip Japanese classic, celebrated for its smooth power delivery and historical significance in rotary development.
