About the Maserati A6

The A6 1500, also known as the Pinin Farina Berlinetta, marked Maserati's transition from a pure racing constructor to a manufacturer of road-going grand tourers. It debuted at the 1947 Geneva Motor Show, featuring a sophisticated tubular chassis and an overhead-camshaft engine derived from the pre-war 6CM racer. Most examples were bodied by Pinin Farina, showcasing a sleek, aerodynamic silhouette with innovative hidden headlamps on the earliest prototypes. While not a powerhouse, its lightweight construction and balanced handling established the blueprint for the Italian GTs that would follow.
