About the Bond Equipe
The Bond Equipe GT was the first four-wheeled vehicle produced by Preston-based Bond Cars, known previously for their three-wheeled Minicars. It utilized a Triumph Herald chassis and doors, paired with a sleek fiberglass fastback body designed by Lawrie Bond. Under the hood sat the 1,147cc twin-carburettor engine from the Triumph Spitfire, providing a modest performance boost over the standard Herald. Despite its humble underpinnings, the Equipe offered a unique 2+2 grand touring experience and was sold through the official Standard-Triumph dealer network. Today, it is a rare curiosity of the 1960s British specialist car industry, prized for its distinctive styling and ease of maintenance.
