About the Alpine A108
The Alpine A108 is the critical link between the early A106 and the legendary A110, introducing the iconic 'Berlinette' body style designed by Philippe Charles. Built on a backbone chassis with a lightweight glass-fibre body, it utilised mechanical components from the Renault Dauphine Gordini. The 1.0-litre variant was the range-topping engine, offering significantly more performance than the base 845cc unit. Its extreme lightness and rear-engine layout provided the agile handling characteristics that would become the brand's hallmark. With only 236 units produced in France, it remains a rare and highly sought-after piece of French automotive history.
