About the Land Rover Range Rover Classic
Launched in 1970, the original Range Rover paired permanent four-wheel drive and long-travel suspension with an aluminium-bodied, practical cabin. By 1985 the five-door had become a staple of the range, while the Vogue trim helped push it upmarket. The carburetted Rover V8 is smooth rather than fast, and the high driving position and supple ride remain its defining charms. Condition and corrosion are decisive for collectors.
