About the Jaguar XJ X351
The X351 generation Jaguar XJ, launched under the design leadership of Ian Callum, abandoned the retro styling of its predecessors for a sleek, fastback-inspired silhouette. Its lightweight aluminium monocoque chassis provided agility that belied its size, making it one of the best-handling cars in the luxury segment. The 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 diesel was the volume seller in Europe, offering a refined balance of 600Nm of torque and respectable fuel economy. While the interior featured innovative digital instrumentation and 'Riva hoop' woodwork, the model's bold rear-end styling and blacked-out C-pillars remained polarising throughout its production run.

Jaguar XJ X351 fun facts
- The X351 was the first Jaguar to feature a virtual instrument cluster, replacing traditional physical dials with a 12.3-inch high-definition display.
- Despite its large appearance, the X351's aluminium construction meant it weighed significantly less than contemporary rivals like the BMW 7 Series or Mercedes-Benz S-Class.
- The 3.0-litre diesel engine uses a sequential twin-turbocharger system, where a smaller variable-geometry turbo operates at low revs to eliminate lag.
