About the Honda Quintet

Introduced in 1980 as a more luxurious alternative to the Civic, the Honda Quintet (known as the Quint in Japan) was a five-door liftback based on the Accord platform. It featured Honda's innovative CVCC engine technology and a high level of standard equipment for its class, including speed-sensitive power steering and a sunroof on higher trims. The model is historically significant as the first Honda to be badge-engineered as a Rover in Australia, laying the groundwork for the long-running British-Japanese collaboration. Today, it is an exceptionally rare survivor of the early 1980s Japanese hatch era, prized by collectors for its mechanical reliability and unique place in automotive history.
