About the Triumph Dolomite
The Triumph Dolomite 1850 HL was positioned as a refined, smaller alternative to the executive saloons of the 1970s. It utilised the advanced 'slant-four' engine, originally designed by Triumph for Saab, which featured a single overhead camshaft and an inclined block. The HL (High Line) trim added luxury touches like a walnut veneer dashboard, plush cloth seats, and twin headlamps, distinguishing it from the base models. While overshadowed by the 16-valve Sprint, the 1850 HL is praised by collectors for its smoother power delivery and more balanced handling.

- The 1850 HL featured a distinctive 'luxury' interior that included a full set of instruments and a wooden gear knob, rare for a car of its size at the time.
