About the Honda Pilot YF1
Introduced for the 2003 model year, the first-generation Honda Pilot (YF1) was designed to replace the Isuzu-sourced Passport and provide a more refined, car-like driving experience. It shared its platform with the Acura MDX and Odyssey minivan, featuring a unibody construction that offered superior ride quality compared to contemporary body-on-frame rivals. The 3.5-litre VTEC V6 provided smooth power, delivered through Honda's VTM-4 variable torque management four-wheel-drive system. It became a benchmark for the mid-size crossover segment due to its eight-passenger capacity and clever interior packaging.
