About the Hyundai Veracruz

Introduced in 2006 to replace the Terracan, the Veracruz (known as the ix55 in Europe) was Hyundai's most ambitious SUV at the time, targeting the premium market. It featured the brand's first V6 diesel engine, the 'S' unit, which provided smooth power delivery and significant torque for towing. The chassis was shared with the Santa Fe but lengthened to accommodate seven passengers in a cabin noted for its impressive sound insulation and near-luxury materials. While it struggled to compete with established European premium brands, it remains a robust and comfortable second-hand choice for large families.
