About the De Tomaso Guarà
The Guarà was the final project overseen by Alejandro de Tomaso, debuting at the 1993 Geneva Motor Show. It was based on the Maserati Barchetta Stradale prototype and featured a radical aluminium honeycomb backbone chassis with F1-style inboard pushrod suspension. Early cars used the BMW M60 V8 before the company switched to Ford power in 1998; the BMW-engined variants are prized for their lighter weight and superior handling. With no power steering or servo-assisted brakes, it offers a raw, uncompromising driving experience that demands total focus from the driver.

De Tomaso Guarà fun facts
- The Guarà's suspension was designed by Enrique Scalabroni, a renowned engineer who previously worked for the Ferrari and Williams Formula 1 teams.
- Because the inboard suspension occupies the entire front of the car, there is virtually no luggage space, leading reviewers to joke that you can only carry a credit card.
- The car's name, Guarà, refers to a breed of South American maned wolf, reflecting Alejandro de Tomaso's Argentinian heritage.
