About the Porsche 911 Carrera RS 993
The 993 Carrera RS is the final air-cooled Rennsport model, built as a homologation special for the BPR GT3 and GT4 racing categories. It features a bored-out 3.8-litre M64/20 engine equipped with Porsche's VarioRam intake system, producing a linear 300 hp. To achieve its lightweight status, Porsche removed the rear seats, soundproofing, and electric amenities, while adding a seam-welded shell and a massive fixed rear wing. It is widely regarded by collectors as one of the most tactile and rewarding 911s ever produced, offering a purity of steering and mechanical connection that modern successors struggle to replicate.
