About the Honda City GA
The second-generation Honda City (GA) marked a radical departure from the 'Tall Boy' design of its predecessor, adopting a low, wide stance that Honda dubbed the 'Crouching Form'. Sharing its aesthetic and mechanical DNA with the contemporary Civic and Today, it focused on improved aerodynamics and a lower centre of gravity. The 1.3-litre D13C engine, introduced later in the production run, provided a significant performance boost over the base 1.2-litre units, especially in fuel-injected CR-i and CZ-i trims. While it lacked the cult-status Turbo and Cabriolet variants of the first generation, the GA City is remembered for its lightweight agility and quintessentially 1980s Honda ergonomics.

Honda City GA fun facts
- The 'Fit' nameplate, which would later become a global success, first appeared as a trim level on this generation of the Honda City.
- Despite being a successor, the GA City was actually shorter than the first-generation Civic, maintaining its position as a dedicated urban runabout.
- The GA generation was never officially sold in the UK or US, making it a rare sight for collectors outside of Japan and select Asian markets.
