About the Holden Commodore VE-VF
Launched in 2006, the VE Commodore represented Holden's most ambitious project, a clean-sheet design built on the sophisticated Zeta platform. Moving away from its Opel-derived roots, the VE featured a significantly stiffer chassis and a new multi-link rear suspension that provided class-leading handling and ride quality. The entry-level Omega trim replaced the long-running Executive and Acclaim models, serving as the backbone of Australian fleets and family driveways. While the 3.6-litre Alloytec V6 and 4-speed automatic were carry-over concepts, the car's improved weight distribution and wider track made it a far more composed driver's car than its predecessors.
