About the Dodge Charger LX
The 2006 Dodge Charger marked the return of the nameplate after a 20-year hiatus, debuting on the LX platform shared with the Chrysler 300. While the shift to a four-door body style was controversial to purists, the Charger successfully blended muscle car styling with modern sedan practicality. The 3.5-litre High Output V6 served as the mid-range powertrain, offering a balance of performance and efficiency compared to the base 2.7-litre unit. Its chassis benefited from DaimlerChrysler-era engineering, featuring a rear suspension design derived from the Mercedes-Benz E-Class (W211). Today, it is remembered as the car that kickstarted the modern American muscle sedan era.
