About the Ford Taurus
The second-generation Ford Taurus arrived in 1992 as a comprehensive redesign of the revolutionary original, featuring a more rounded 'jellybean' aesthetic and a significantly improved interior. While it shared the same chassis and the reliable 3.0-litre Vulcan V6 engine with its predecessor, nearly every body panel was new to improve aerodynamics and reduce wind noise. It successfully maintained the Taurus's position as the best-selling car in America, a title it held throughout this generation's production run. For collectors, it represents the peak of the 'aero' design era that transformed the American automotive landscape.
