About the Datsun Bluebird 310

Launched in August 1959, the 310-series Bluebird was a pivotal model for Nissan, replacing the aging 210 and introducing a more modern, American-influenced aesthetic. It was the first Datsun to feature independent front suspension, significantly improving ride quality over its predecessors. The 1.2-litre 'E' engine provided enough durability for the model to become a staple of the Japanese taxi industry and a successful early export to markets like Finland and the United States. While performance was modest, its robust construction and reliability earned it a reputation that sustained the Bluebird nameplate for over four decades.
