About the Datsun Bluebird 410

The 410-generation Bluebird marked a sophisticated shift for Datsun, featuring a modern unibody construction and elegant styling by the Italian design house Pininfarina. Launched in 1963, it moved away from the upright, bulbous shapes of its predecessors in favour of a European-inspired 'droop-line' profile. While the 1.3-litre J13 engine provided modest performance, its reputation for reliability and mechanical simplicity helped establish Nissan's foothold in export markets like North America and Australia. Today, it is celebrated as the stylish ancestor to the legendary 510 and a key milestone in Japanese automotive history.
