About the Fiat 1100

The Fiat 1100 R (Rinnovata) was the final iteration of the long-running 1100 series, introduced in 1966 to bridge the gap until the front-wheel-drive 128 arrived. It returned to the classic 1,089 cc engine displacement to avoid competing with the larger 124, but featured modern updates like front disc brakes and a floor-mounted gear lever. Distinguished by its squared-off rear styling and circular tail lights, it offered a more refined and comfortable ride than its predecessors. For collectors, the 1100 R represents the peak of development for one of Italy's most significant post-war motoring icons.
