About the Chrysler 200
The second-generation Chrysler 200 represented a radical departure from its predecessor, moving to the Fiat-derived Compact US Wide platform shared with the Alfa Romeo Giulietta. It debuted a sophisticated, wind-tunnel-honed exterior with a class-leading drag coefficient of 0.27, though this sleek roofline compromised rear passenger space. The 2.4-litre 'Tigershark' engine was paired with a segment-first nine-speed automatic transmission, which aimed for efficiency but faced criticism for inconsistent shift quality. Despite a strong initial sales launch, the model was discontinued after only two years as FCA pivoted its focus toward SUVs and trucks.
