About the Buick Verano
The second-generation Buick Verano was developed specifically for the Chinese market by the SAIC-GM joint venture, moving to the D2XX platform shared with the Opel Astra K. While the first-generation Verano was phased out in North America by 2017, this version continued Buick's success in China with a focus on 'QuietTuning' and premium interior materials. The 1.5T (marketed as the 20T) features a SIDI direct-injection turbocharged engine paired with a dual-clutch transmission, offering a more modern powertrain than its American predecessor. It represents Buick's transition into a brand defined by its massive popularity and bespoke product lines within the Chinese automotive landscape.
