About the Mercedes-Benz C-Class W204
The W204 generation Mercedes-Benz C-Class marked a significant shift towards a more angular, aggressive design language and improved driving dynamics. The C 220 CDI Sport was a mainstay of the UK market, featuring the OM651 engine which utilised two-stage turbocharging to provide a broad torque curve and impressive fuel economy. The Sport trim added a lowered suspension, AMG-inspired body styling, and a more direct steering rack compared to the Elegance and SE models. While the interior was initially criticised for its plastics, the 2011 facelift significantly upgraded the cabin quality and introduced the 7G-Tronic Plus transmission, making it one of the most complete executive cars of its era.
