About the Buick Verano
The first-generation Buick Verano, known in China as the Excelle GT, was developed on General Motors' Delta II platform, shared with the Chevrolet Cruze and Opel Astra. While the North American Verano focused on a 2.4-litre engine, the Chinese market received a broader range including this 1.5-litre entry-level variant introduced during the 2013 facelift. It was designed to offer Buick's signature 'QuietTuning' and premium interior materials at a more accessible price point. The 1.5-litre L2B engine replaced the older 1.6-litre unit, prioritising fuel efficiency over outright performance for urban commuting.
