About the BMW M5 F10
The F10 generation M5 marked a radical shift for BMW M, replacing the high-revving V10 of its predecessor with a 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8. While purists initially lamented the loss of natural aspiration, the S63 engine delivered a massive 680 Nm of torque from just 1,500 rpm, providing effortless, continent-crossing speed. It was the first M5 to adopt a dual-clutch transmission (DCT) and featured an Active M Differential to manage its immense power. Despite its significant weight, the F10 remains a benchmark for the 'businessman's express', blending luxury refinement with brutal straight-line performance.
