About the Volkswagen Polo 9N
The fourth-generation Volkswagen Polo (9N) marked a significant shift for the nameplate, moving it upmarket with a focus on build quality and refinement that rivalled the larger Golf. Launched with a distinctive quad-headlight face, it was extensively facelifted in 2005 (9N3) to adopt a more contemporary V-shaped grille and angular lamps. The 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine was a highlight of the range, utilizing a balancer shaft to achieve smoothness and efficiency in urban environments. While not a performance car, its solid interior materials and class-leading ergonomics made it a benchmark for the supermini segment during the 2000s.
