About the TVR Grantura

The Grantura Mark III represented a pivotal moment for TVR, introducing a completely new, longer space-frame chassis designed by John Thurner. This chassis replaced the previous Volkswagen-derived torsion bar setup with a sophisticated all-round independent coil-spring suspension, significantly improving handling and ride quality. Powered by the 1.6-litre BMC B-Series engine from the MGA, the car's featherweight glass-fibre body ensured brisk performance for its era. It remains a pure, visceral driving machine, though its cramped cabin and lack of a boot lid reflect its uncompromising, hand-built nature.
