About the Triumph TR2

Introduced in 1953, the Triumph TR2 was designed to be an affordable, high-performance sports car capable of exceeding 100 mph. It utilised a modified Standard Vanguard engine and a simple ladder chassis, prioritising mechanical toughness over luxury. Early 'long-door' models are particularly prized by collectors for their rarity and distinctive aesthetic. The TR2 established Triumph's reputation in the American market and served as the foundation for the successful TR line that continued for decades.
