About the Triumph 2000 Mk2
The Triumph 2.5 PI (Petrol Injection) Mk2 was a sophisticated executive saloon that combined Giovanni Michelotti's sharp styling with the punchy straight-six from the TR5 sports car. As the first British production car to feature Lucas mechanical fuel injection, it offered performance that could humble many contemporary sports cars, though the system gained a reputation for being temperamental in hot weather. The Mk2 update introduced a longer nose and tail, sharing its front-end aesthetic with the Triumph Stag. Today, it is prized by collectors for its smooth power delivery, comfortable independent rear suspension, and quintessentially British wood-and-nylon interior.
