About the Datsun Laurel C130

The C130-generation Datsun Laurel was the second iteration of Nissan's upscale executive car, positioned above the Bluebird to compete with the Toyota Mark II. While the two-door hardtop gained cult status as the 'Butaketsu' (pig's butt) due to its distinctive rear styling, the four-door saloon offered a more formal take on the 'coke bottle' design language of the era. It shared its chassis and L-series engines with the contemporary C110 Skyline, making it a popular choice for enthusiasts seeking Skyline performance in a more refined package. Today, it is a staple of the Kyusha scene, valued for its robust mechanicals and quintessential 1970s Japanese aesthetic.
