About the Toyota Mark X ZiO
The Toyota Mark X ZiO was a Japan-exclusive 'crossover' that attempted to merge the prestige of the Mark X sedan with the practicality of a minivan. Built on the New MC platform, it featured a unique '3-mode' cabin layout marketed as '4+Free', providing four independent seats and a flexible rear space. Despite the Mark X name, it was front-wheel drive and shared more DNA with the RAV4 and Avensis than the rear-wheel-drive Mark X sedan. It remains a popular grey import in markets like the UK and New Zealand due to its high equipment levels and unusual packaging.
