About the Vauxhall Cascada
The Vauxhall Cascada was launched as a more upscale successor to the Astra TwinTop, featuring a classic fabric roof rather than a folding hardtop to maximise boot space and elegance. Built on a combination of Delta II and Epsilon II platforms, it utilised the HiPerStrut front suspension from the Insignia VXR to improve steering feel and reduce torque steer. The 1.6-litre SIDI Turbo engine in Elite trim offered a balance of refinement and mid-range torque suitable for relaxed cruising. While it struggled to compete with the prestige of German rivals, it remains a rare and well-equipped choice for those seeking a genuine four-seat open-top experience.
