About the Toyota JPN Taxi

Launched in 2017 to coincide with the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, the JPN Taxi (NTP10) is a purpose-built commercial vehicle designed to replace the venerable Crown Comfort. It features a tall, MPV-like silhouette with a low flat floor and a large electric sliding rear door on the passenger side to facilitate wheelchair access. The powertrain is a specialized LPG-hybrid system (1NZ-FXP) optimized for the high-mileage, stop-start duty cycles of urban taxi fleets. While it lacks the traditional sedan styling of its predecessor, its 'Koiai' deep indigo paint and functional design have quickly made it a modern icon of Japanese urban mobility.
