About the SsangYong Rexton Y250
The Y250 generation Rexton was a facelifted evolution of SsangYong's flagship SUV, designed by Italdesign and based on the Mercedes-Benz M-Class (W163) platform. It gained a reputation for being a capable tow car and off-roader due to its ladder-frame chassis and low-range gearing. The 2.7-litre XDi engine was a highlight, being a five-cylinder unit built under licence from Mercedes-Benz. While it lacked the refinement and interior quality of European rivals, it offered significant value for money and a high equipment level for its era.
