About the Smart ForTwo
The third-generation Smart ForTwo (C453) represents a significant leap in refinement over its predecessors, developed in a joint venture with Renault. While it retains the iconic 2.69-metre length, it is 10cm wider, providing a much more stable stance and a significantly roomier cabin. The most notable improvement is the replacement of the jerky automated-manual gearbox with a proper five-speed manual or a smooth dual-clutch unit. Its party piece remains a record-breaking 6.95-metre turning circle, allowing it to perform U-turns in spaces where other cars would require a three-point manoeuvre.
