About the Skoda Superb Mk1
The first-generation Skoda Superb marked the brand's return to the executive segment, utilizing a long-wheelbase version of the Volkswagen Passat (B5) platform. It was primarily distinguished by its exceptional rear passenger space, which rivalled luxury cars from the segment above. The 1.9 TDI PD engine was the most popular choice, favoured for its durability and impressive fuel economy. While it lacked the prestige of its German rivals, it gained a reputation as a sensible, comfortable, and highly practical alternative for long-distance driving.
