About the Skoda Octavia Mk3
The third-generation Skoda Octavia utilised the Volkswagen Group's MQB platform to offer significantly more interior space and a longer wheelbase than its predecessor while weighing up to 102kg less. In SE trim with the 1.6 TDI engine, it was positioned as the sweet spot for high-mileage drivers, offering exceptional fuel economy and low CO2 emissions. The hatchback's 'liftback' design provided class-leading boot space of 590 litres, rivaling cars from the segment above. While not a performance-oriented model, it earned a reputation for refinement, build quality, and sensible ergonomics.
