About the Skoda Fabia Mk2
The second-generation Skoda Fabia (Mk2) moved the model further into the mainstream, adopting a taller, more upright 'floating roof' design that maximised interior headroom. Built on the Volkswagen Group PQ24 platform, it shared much of its DNA with the contemporary Polo and Ibiza but offered a more utilitarian focus. The 1.2-litre three-cylinder HTP engine was the entry-level choice, designed for urban efficiency rather than outright performance. While it lacked the refinement of the later TSI units, the Mk2 Fabia earned a reputation for reliability and class-leading boot space, making it a staple of the European supermini segment.
