About the Chrysler Ypsilon
The Chrysler Ypsilon was the result of the Fiat-Chrysler merger, essentially a third-generation Lancia Ypsilon rebranded for the UK and Ireland where the Lancia brand had long been absent. It features a distinctive 'hidden' rear door handle design and a centrally mounted instrument cluster, aimed at providing a more premium feel than the Fiat 500 with which it shares a platform. The 1.2-litre 'Fire' engine is a long-running, reliable unit, though it offers modest performance suited primarily for urban environments. Despite its Italian roots and unique styling, the model struggled to find a significant foothold in the competitive British supermini segment.
