About the SEAT Leon Cupra R Mk2
Launched at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Mk2 Leon Cupra R was the most powerful production SEAT of its era. It utilised the high-output 'EA113' 2.0-litre engine from the Audi S3 and Volkswagen Scirocco R, delivering 265 PS to the front wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox. To manage the power, SEAT fitted the XDS electronic differential system and upgraded 345mm front brakes. Distinguished by its 19-inch 'Potenza' wheels and central twin-exit exhaust, it remains a highly regarded 'sleeper' in the hot hatchback segment for its mechanical depth and understated Walter de'Silva styling.
