About the SEAT Fura
The SEAT Fura was introduced in late 1981 as a final development of the SEAT 127, following the expiration of SEAT's licensing agreement with Fiat. While heavily based on the third-series Fiat 127, the Fura featured unique Spanish styling touches and, notably, a five-speed manual gearbox as standard on the GL trim. It served as a crucial stop-gap model for the brand during its transition toward independence and eventual partnership with Volkswagen. Production continued until 1986, overlapping with the launch of the first-generation Ibiza which eventually replaced it.
