About the Saturn Vue
Introduced for the 2002 model year, the Saturn Vue was the first vehicle to utilise General Motors' Theta platform, a unibody architecture designed to provide car-like handling in a compact SUV package. It maintained Saturn's signature dent-resistant polymer body panels and a 'no-haggle' sales approach, aiming to attract buyers away from established Japanese rivals like the Honda CR-V. The 2.2-litre Ecotec engine provided modest performance, though the model was notable for offering an early application of a continuously variable transmission (CVT) in the SUV segment. While popular for its practicality and value, early units were often criticised for vague electric power steering and interior material quality.
