About the Saturn Ion

The Saturn Ion was introduced in 2003 as the successor to the successful S-Series, built on GM's Delta platform. It retained Saturn's signature dent-resistant polymer body panels and featured a distinctive centre-mounted instrument cluster designed to allow a better view of the road. The 2.2-litre Ecotec engine provided competitive power for the economy class, though the car was often criticised for its interior material quality and steering feel. While not a performance icon, it remains a notable part of Saturn's history as the brand attempted to modernise its line-up before its eventual dissolution.

The Saturn Ion produces 140 bhp (104 kW) and 197 Nm (145 lb-ft) of torque. It reaches 60 mph in 8.4 seconds and has a top speed of 115 mph (185 km/h).
