About the SsangYong Kyron
Launched as the successor to the Musso, the SsangYong Kyron is a traditional body-on-frame SUV designed by Ken Greenley. The 2007 facelift addressed the controversial 'shield-shaped' rear lights and helmet-style grille of the original 2005 design, adopting a more conventional aesthetic. It is powered by a 2.0-litre XDi diesel engine, which was developed using Mercedes-Benz common-rail technology to balance durability with efficiency. While its on-road dynamics are hampered by its significant weight and live-axle rear suspension, it remains a capable budget towing vehicle with a 2,300kg braked capacity.
